Procurement and Inventory Control Specialist

The Inventory Control Specialist will be in charge of implementing the parts inventory system including production of inventory parts manufactured from RM Inventory.  The position will also oversee maintaining accurate records of all the parts inventory aspects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Procures, manages, and maintains the master inventory through EPICOR software for its current location and all locations; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of IT and the GM.
    • Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
    • Establishes and maintains backup source for high-demand items.
    • Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
    • Provides inventory reports to GM, controller and executive team.
    • Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
    • Manages the logic behind creating new parts, the creation and deletion of parts and works with finance on the costing.
    • With the assistance of warehouse management and the logistics coordinator, will maintain accurate daily records of materials received and shipments made.
    • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
    • Ensures cycle counts are done regularly, correctly, and address inventory issues.  Assists with periodic (and annual) physical inventory audits.
    • Operates machinery when necessary, in the daily inventory routines.
    • Excellent communication skills with all levels of external and internal customers, including warehouse workers, office personnel and Senior Management.
    • Complete understanding of inventory control policies & procedures, including PO entry, receiving, closing, etc.
    • Proficient MS Office, including Excel, Word & Outlook.
    • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
    • Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors, enabling the best pricing and value for the product needed.
    • Analytical mind with strong math skills.
